{dasasap}, an App for Syllogisms

چکیده
The main goal of this contribution is to introduce a cross-platform application to learn-teach syllogistic. We call this application dasasap for develop all syllogisms as soon as possible. To introduce this application we show the logical foundations for the game with a system we call L , and its interface developed with LiveCode. 1998 ACM Subject Classification F.4.1 Mathematical Logic, K.8 Personal Computing

Suhrawardi's Modal Syllogisms
Suhrawardi’s logic of the Hikmat al-Ishraq is basically modal. So to understand his modal logic one first has to know the non-modal part upon which his modal logic is built. In my previous paper ‘Suhrawardi on Syllogisms’(3) I discussed the former in detail. The present paper is an exposition of his treatment of modal syllogisms. On the basis of some reasonable existential presuppositi...
متن کاملAn Android Application for Estimating Muscle Onset Latency using Surface EMG Signal
Background: Electromyography (EMG) signal processing and Muscle Onset Latency (MOL) are widely used in rehabilitation sciences and nerve conduction studies. The majority of existing software packages provided for estimating MOL via analyzing EMG signal are computerized, desktop based and not portable; therefore, experiments and signal analyzes using them should be completed locally. Moreover, a...
متن کاملEquivalence of Syllogisms
We consider two categorical syllogisms, valid or invalid, to be equivalent if they can be transformed into each other by certain transformations, going back to Aristotle, that preserve validity. It is shown that two syllogisms are equivalent if and only if they have the same models. Counts are obtained for the number of syllogisms in each equivalence class. To make the development more natural,...
متن کاملUsing Inclusion Diagrams as an Alternative to Venn Diagrams to Determine the Validity of Categorical Syllogisms
Inclusion diagrams are introduced as an alternative to using Venn diagrams to determine the validity of categorical syllogisms, and are used here for the analysis of diverse categorical syllogisms. As a preliminary example of a possible generalization of the use of inclusion diagrams, consideration is given also to an argument that includes more than two premises and more than three terms, the ...
